Fountain Square Reopens

Join Us October 14 as "The Lady" Welcomes Us Home

Saturday, October 14, 2006, will be a new day in Cincinnati as we reconnect on Fountain Square. All the day's events are free.

The midday celebration emceed by Bootsy Collins will feature "I Am Cincinnati," an original poem written and read by Nikki Giovanni; the Voices of Freedom choir; a joint performance by the Cincinnati Symphony, Opera and Ballet; and a few video surprises, followed by the debut of the 1,000 Faces of Cincinnati video.

Free outdoor concerts that night on the Fifth Street main stage:
6:00 pm    hip hop artist Talib Kweli and Cincinnati native DJ Hi-Tek
7:15 pm    Los Lobos, legendary band from East L.A.
8:30 pm    OK Go, hot indie rock and treadmill video stars

Plus local bands on the Fountain Square stage:
5:30 pm    IsWhat?!
6:45 pm    Kentucky Struts
8:00 pm    Buckra

Rozzi's Famous Fireworks from the roof of Fifth Third will end the night.

Beer, soft drinks and food from Gold Star Chili, LaRosa's, Montgomery Inn and Graeter’s will be available.

Come out and enjoy this historic event and a great street party!
