Explore the District
The Fountain Square District is a restaurant and entertainment hub. Aside from the neverending activity and events on the Square itself, you’ll find signature restaurants and bars such as Via Vite, Chipotle, Rock Bottom Brewery, Mynt Martini, Potbelly, Graeter’s, Ingredients, McCormick & Schmick’s, Boi Na Braza, Morton’s, and Palomino surrounding all four sides of the Square.
Just to the north of Fountain Square, you’ll discover the “Backstage District” surrounding the Aronoff Center for the Arts and the Contemporary Arts Center. The Backstage restaurants and entertainment venues include Cincy’s on Sixth, Nicholson’s, Ultra Lounge, Righteous Room, Jeff Ruby’s, Nada, and the new Igby’s on Sixth Street.
21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati, a 156-room boutique hotel across from the Aronoff Center, recently opened to great fanfare in November 2012. It boasts a contemporary art museum with 8,000 SF of exhibition space, meeting rooms, and The Metropole restaurant.
The Westin Hotel also flanks the south side of Fountain Square, with rooms and meeting spaces overlooking the Square. Click here for a full listing of downtown hotels.
If shopping is your thing, you’ll find key stores in Fountain Place on the west side of the Square, including Tiffany & Co, Macy’s, and Brooks Brothers. And one block west, at the corner of Fifth & Race Streets, you’ll discover Saks Fifth Avenue. Click here for a full listing of all downtown stores.
