On Friday, June 29, 2007, twelve teams participated in the first-ever McCormick & Schmick's Fish Toss on Fountain Square. We supplied ponchos, rubber gloves, buckets, and raw, dead fish. Teams from the Banker's Club, US Bank, National City, and other downtown offices competed bravely for four $25 gift certificates from McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant. Participants and bemused spectators had a blast at this quick lunchtime event. The winning team of four women from US Bank took home the top prize after successfully tossing 14 fish in 60 seconds. All four TV news stations and 4 print media outlets covered the event. Local TV coverage alone amounted to over $2,000 in media value and 427,500 impressions.
