Fountain Square turns into a pumpkin patch watched over by the “Genius of Scarecrow” and is bathed in orange and purple light. The east grove becomes a haunted house, and the LED board plays classic scary movies. Haunted Square is eight days and nights of Halloween fun that everyone can enjoy.

The signature element of this signature event is the Haunted Grove. Every evening at dusk, a tour guide takes groups of unsuspecting guests through a maze filled with frights and delights. While people wait their turn, they can play mini-golf in the pumpkin patch.

Other activities during the week-long event include complimentary apple cider at lunchtime, hay rides, pumpkin carving, a square dance, and a costume contest. There will also be a showing of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” on the video board. On Halloween night is the Monster Mash Bash, when the Square becomes a chic "frightclub" with music from hot club DJs and people in costume dancing till midnight.
