This year's Blast was bigger than ever!

Festivities kicked off at 8 p.m. with FREE ice skating, DJ music, drinks from our ice bar, and delicious snacks like tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Fox 19 was live on Fountain Square during their 10pm local news, and we came back to Fox 19 for their New Year's Eve special from Las Vegas. 

At 11pm, we showed Red Bull's "New Year No Limits" special live on ESPN, in which Red Bull athlete Travis Pastrana drove a car off a pier in Long Beach and landed it on a barge floating in the harbor, in an attempt to set a world record for longest distance jump in a rally car. At the stroke of midnight, thousands cheered in the new year as fireworks lit up the sky over the city’s iconic and romantic Fountain Square.
