Planter Boxes

New in 2009

Fountain Square Management Group and the Cincinnati Park Board added 76 new planter boxes and pots to Fountain Square in spring 2009.

The copper-colored planters are located on the plinths in the north and east groves, along the ramps leading up to the Square, and on top of the water wall and restroom building.

The boxes and flowers soften the look and feel of the granite plaza and add more life and color to the space.

The 2009 spring plants include violas, snapdragons and white alyssum. The plants will be changed four times a year, along with those in the beds around Fountain Square.

Thanks to the Smale Foundation for making the planter boxes possible.
