Reds Opening Day

April 5, 2010, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

In Cincinnati, Opening Day is a local holiday celebrated with an all-day party on Fountain Square.

The traditional Findlay Market Opening Day Parade passes by Fountain Square in the late morning, while Local 12 WKRC-TV hosts a Reds rally with giveaways and activities from Local 12, Q102 radio, PNC Bank, H Meyer Dairy, Servatii Pastry Shop, and Kroger.

After the parade, we watch the hometown Reds play the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:10 p.m. on Fountain Square's video screen, while Give Back Cincinnati - a volunteer organization for young professionals - hosts a party on the Square into the evening with live music, more food, and Christian Moerlein beer.

For more about a new tradition on the Saturday evening before Opening Day, check out Fountain Day! All are welcome!
