About Tyler Davidson Fountain:
Cincinnati businessman Henry Probasco dedicated our famous fountain “To the People of Cincinnati” in memory of his business partner and brother-in-law, Tyler Davidson, on October 6, 1871. Designed to rival the great fountains of Europe, the bronze and granite fountain glorifies the blessings of water. Streams of water flow from the outstretched hands of the nine-foot-tall Genius of Water, affectionately known as “The Lady.” Below her, large human figures represent water’s practical uses, and on the base, four child figures represent the pleasures of water.

About Daisy Jane's Floral Installation:
In looking at the history of the Tyler Davidson Fountain we wanted to be thoughtful in our use of colors to symbolize the four different images on the fountain that tell the story of the different uses of water. The colors are warm and would also be great for this time of year. The Genius of Water brings aid to the workman on the north side of the fountain who is standing on a burning roof begging for aid. The reddish orange flowers would symbolize the fire that the water is helping to extinguish. On the south side of the fountain a farmer is begging for rain during a drought. We were thinking of using a beautiful toffee colored flowers to symbolize the drought conditions. On the east side of the fountain is a mother leading her child to water for a bath. The color pink symbolizes a mother’s nurturing and compassionate spirit so we would use a light pink flowers for that. On the west side of the fountain a young girl is offering water to an older gentleman with crutches. The color green symbolizes empathy, which would be used all around the fountain in the form of greenery. For the greatest visual impact, since there is a lot of ground to cover, and to keep with the 150th anniversary theme, we thought 150 red-orange, 150 toffee and 150 pink flowers would give the greatest visual impact to go around the entire base of the fountain.
