CINCINNATI (November 13, 2013) – The 2013 Macy’s Holiday Tree is set to arrive at Fountain Square this coming Saturday, November 16. The new tree, a 55-foot Norway Spruce donated by Mr. and Mrs. William Moinette of Rittman, Ohio, will begin its procession to Cincinnati late Friday evening. Upon its Saturday morning arrival, it will be lifted into place on the southwest corner of the Square as the 2013 Macy’s Holiday Tree. Strands of decorative lights and a five-foot-tall, red Macy’s star will be added over the course of the next few days.
Zuk’s Tree Moving plans to leave Rittman, Ohio, in Medina County shortly after midnight on Friday, and the tree is expected to arrive in downtown Cincinnati by 6 a.m. Saturday morning. The initial tree installation will run from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and decoration is expected to be completed by Wednesday of the following week.
The Holiday Tree serves as the centerpiece of the 2013 Macy’s Light Up The Square event, which will take place on Friday, November 29th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. In addition to Zuk’s Tree Moving, the tree and installation would not be possible without the help of Enerfab, HGC Construction, Secon Inc., Hilltop Basic Resources, Quality Towing, Christmas Lighting Company, United Electric, Maxim Crane, Sunbelt Rentals and the Cincinnati Park Board.
