Tuesday: Tuesday is busy, busy! Come check out the Strauss Troy Market on the Square from 11AM to 2PM. Ladies and gentleman, I’ll be frank—[insert “then I’ll be Bob” joke here]—if you haven’t made it down to the market yet you are really missing out. From lunches and snacks to fresh produce and jewelry, this market has it all. On a personal note, if you’ve never tried the deliciousness that is Mama Made It, you need to fix that. Their popcorn will change your life.
…Okay that might be a *slight* exaggeration, but it’s still the most delightful treat ever!
Following the Strauss Troy Market, is American Roots, from 7PM – 10PM. Previously known as Southern Sounds, this concert series features bluegrass, rockabilly, and honky tonk and more! This week, come down and enjoy a FREE performance from the Wild Carrot & the Roots Band and Magnolia Mountain .
Wednesday: On Fountain Square, Wednesdays mean Reggae! Take a mid-week break from all of life’s stressors, and let the smooth island rhythms transport you far, far away. This week, Reggae fans can enjoy a FREE show from local favorite, Flex Crew, from 7PM – 10PM.
Thursday: Acoustic Thursday typically features two groups or soloists performing folk, Celtic, blues, singer-songwriter, roots, or Americana music each week. This week, spend your lunch hour enjoying the soothing melodies of The Clazels and Jayne Sachs!
Salsa nights on the Square are Hot! Hot! Hot! Every Thursday, enjoy hot salsa bands, skilled dancers, and tips from expert instructors who will take to the dance floor teach the basic steps. Kandela will be performing live on Fountain Square, and let me tell you, these folks know how to start a party and keep it going. Can’t dance? Don’t worry! Don’t dance? Well, I challenge you to resist the urge to move your feet to the spicy Latin beats!
Side Note: I recently read an article detailing the best places to meet other single people in Cincinnati—Salsa on the Square was number one on the list. Need I say more? ;o)
